Casein

Description

Casein is used as a binder for milk paints: tempera and fresco painting as well as for lime mortars. Casein is a natural substance extracted from milk. In the first place, it contains calcium and phosphoric acid. Lactic Casein was used for the preparation and the realization of icons. Casein is the binder of milk paint. Casein is still used as a coating, as a glue to rub, as a binder to paint and, it seems, as an adjunct in the manufacture of certain inks as well as wood glue especially in the industry and finally as an ingredient of wood pulp in different sectors of activity.
