Japan Dryer 500ml toughens finishes. It speeds up the drying of oil-based paints and varnishes.
Use Klenk’s Japan Dryer to speed up the drying time of oil-based paint, enamel and varnish. Toughens finishes. It is especially effective when the weather is damp or cool. Stir in 7mL per 1L (26.5mL per 3.78L).
Klenks Japan Dryer 500ml Can Use what professionals use to speed up drying when they need to apply several coats on the same a day Japan drier. Its special blend of lead-free drying agents that accelerates the drying ability of oil-based paint, oil-based enamels, varnish and polyurethane. It is especially effective in highly humid or cool weather conditions. Though Japan drier appears dark it will not affect the color of your coating.
Use no more than 2 oz.of Japan Dryer 500ml per gallon of oil based paint, enamel or varnish. Follow paint manufacturer’s directions for thinning. Japan Drier accelerates the drying time of oil based paints, enamels and varnishes.
While an unopened can will have an almost unlimited shelf life, an opened can may have lost some of it’s solvents. Japan drier is a compound of Stoddard Solvent, Benzene and metals (usually Cobalt and Manganeze). The purple color is from the metals
Painters use them for the same purpose and probably much more commonly than furniture makers. Without a drier, a lacquer such as used on Japanese lacquerware can take 3-4 months to harden. However, it can take just a week or less with a cobalt salt accelerant.
